Bruins to Host Military Appreciation Night
The Boston Bruins will honor local military members, veterans and their families at "Military Appreciation Night" presented by the Massachusetts and Maine Army National Guard on Monday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. during the Bruins/Devils game at the TD Garden (100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114). To show their support for the armed forces, Bruins Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler will each purchase $5,000 worth of tickets to the Bruins/Devils game that they will give to local military members and their families. The soldiers and their families will be honored throughout the game through photo montages on the Garden HDX, Zamboni rides, and video messages while a select few will have the chance to shake hands with the team as they leave the locker room during intermissions. Edaville Supports Our Military Personnel
Veterans Day weekend November 13, 2010 Military Personnel receive free admission to Edaville USA’s Christmas Festival of Lights Carver, MA – This New England tradition features millions of lights and displays in a spectacular holiday celebration. Visitors can meet Santa, listen to carols and ride the train past an explosion of holiday lights and decorations. In addition, on Friday nights in Decemberthere will be firework shows. Stay for all the rides, and attractions that make Edaville USA a New England tradition! During the Christmas season, Edaville is transformed into a colorful winter wonderland, as over seven million colored lights decorate the 1,800-acre cranberry plantation. The Christmas Train passes by more than 30 seasonal displays, while passengers relax comfortably in our warm and dry heated passenger coaches. Families can come enjoy hot cider, Christmas lights, and a visit with Santa! On November 13, 2010 Saturday from 2 pm - 9 pm Military Personnel who show their Active Duty, Reserves, or Retiree Card will receive free full price admission while military family receives half off full price admission. Uniforms are not required but appreciated. Edaville USA is located just off Route 58 in Carver, MA. It’s Less than One Hour from Boston and Providence, and as always, parking is free for all guests! Support Retreat for Military Family Members
Spouses and other relatives of Massachusetts servicemen and women face extraordinary pressures. You deserve our ongoing support and acknowledgement of your shared sacrifice. This day-long retreat for adult relatives of service members in deployment phase is a small gesture of support for your family. Treat yourself to a relaxing and supportive day hosted by Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center that will include: Peer Support group sessions, Workshops including meditation and cooking nutritious and fast family meals, Mini-sessions in yoga, Reiki and chair massage. Lunch is included The retreat is free of charge and open to 20 people, including a spouse, fiancee, relatives, or others identified by a referring source.
